Yes. The piece, the plinth and the lettering are all the same chocolate, with nothing inside it and no support material left on it. The hand-painted finish uses colored cocoa butter, which is also food.

Like any chocolate: somewhere cool and dry, out of the sun, and it will be at its best for months. It is solid all the way through, so there is nothing inside it with a shorter life than the chocolate itself.

Dark holds the finest detail and the sharpest edges, so it is the one to pick for lettering and small features. Milk is what most people mean by chocolate. White is the most flattering under a light and the least forgiving of a fingerprint.

Up to forty characters, cut into the side of the plinth. A name, a date, a team, a joke. The pipeline scales the letters down to make them fit and warns us when it has had to, which is the point past which it stops being legible.

One person, facing the camera, from the waist up or head to toe. Even light, nothing covering the face, and no strong shadow across it. A phone photo taken indoors is usually fine. Sunglasses, hats and other people in the frame are what most often spoil it.

Close enough that the people who know you recognise you, which is the bar we hold ourselves to. It is a small figure rather than a portrait: the build, posture, hair and clothing carry most of the resemblance, and the face carries the rest at the size a plinth allows.
